POSITION : Customer Service Representative REPORTING TO : General Manager MISSION : To provide excellent customer service as part of the store team, maximizing sales and assisting in the daily operation of the store. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR : Helping maximize store sales by consistently delivering our customer service commitment: - Acknowledge and greet customers as they enter and throughout the store. Ask customers if they require help locating an item. Provide customers with a bookmark, explaining that the program helps to ensure excellent customer service. - Taking customers to the correct section, put the book into the customer's hand and suggest related titles and authors. - When unfamiliar with a title, knowing how to use WordStock and the Look-up to find information and put the title in the customer's hand. - Promoting and supporting the iREWARDS card and chapters.indigo.ca, and advising customers of special promotions. - Learning each week about bestselling and new release titles. - Within 3 rings, answering the telephone courteously, including identifying yourself and the store. Knowing the monthly events calendar and promote in-store events to customers. Assisting with the development and training of the store team. Knowing the basic store layout and be able to answer general customer questions about entire store. Assisting in maintaining stock levels and building and maintaining merchandising displays. Ensuring that stock is shelved at appropriate times and within 24 hour shelving standard. Communicating effectively with co-workers and supervisors. Support and encourage teamwork within entire store staff and within district stores. Knowing and following all loss prevention procedures. Help maintain a clean, safe and organized store. Following all company policies, procedures and assignments. Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time. AND YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS : Previous retail experience would be an asset Love of books Ability and desire to deliver the Indigo customer service commitment. Available for shift-work. May require heavy lifting and repetitive bending. Natural sales ability, desire to learn and succeed.
