UK Flowers Rare & Out of Print Books FAQ What is our Rare & Out of Print Books Section? Our site provides customers access to millions of rare and out of print titles. The books listed in this database come from an international network of dealers whose inventory is posted on the Internet to make the vast selection of titles available to customers. How do I access the Rare & Out of Print Books Section? To find this section simply click on the Used Books link at the top of any page within the Books Section. Search Information and Hints Our rare and out of print book search page allows customers to search by title, author, publisher or keywords. The keyword option searches all available fields, including the descriptive text about a title. You can also search by publication, year, binding, format, price and first edition only information. The book dealers in our network are responsible for adding their own books to the database, so you will see some inconsistencies in how books are described. Using the First Edition Option It is important to keep in mind that books can be described as a first edition - even if it is not the first time the book has been published. Here’s a little background: A book can run its course with one publisher and its copyright can be sold to another publishing company. When the new publisher re-releases the book it is once again categorized as a first release or first edition. To avoid confusion, we suggest customers research the original publisher and publication date. The Library of Congress Web site is a great place to collect this information. Understanding Book Descriptions We provide a glossary of common abbreviations and book terminology used in the descriptive text featured on our rare & out of print item pages. Photographs accompany many of the terms. Why do Copies of the Same Book have Different Prices? As secondary market goods, the condition of the book, the dust jacket, autographs, and the price set by the owners are all factors that affect the value of the rare & out of print book. Therefore, there is not a set price for any one title. [click here to return to top of page] Ordering Why Can’t I Order Multiple Copies of an Item? Customers can only order multiple copies if a listing for more than one copy of the title exists in our database. To order, simply add each listing to your shopping basket, one title at a time, and proceed to the check out when you have finished making your selections. [click here to return to top of page] Cancellations Customers have the option to cancel orders for up to 30 minutes after the order is placed. All other orders can not be cancelled or returned. [click here to return to top of page] Shipping Our rare and out of print titles come from a variety of worldwide booksellers. Therefore customers should anticipate shipping rates and methods that vary according to which bookseller ships their order. Free Shipping promotions on chapters.indigo.ca will not apply to Used Books. Shipping is centralized from the United States. Most rare and out of print books will be shipped via DHL Worldmail and rare and valuable items will be shipped via UPS. Changing your default shipping method in "your settings" does not affect the shipping method for used and out of print books. Shipping times vary depending on the physical location of the individual title. Estimated time for each book is reflected on the item pages and in your order summary. Shipping costs will be reflected on your order summary. General shipping fees: $7.50 per book within the US and Canada and $11.95 to other countries. Books being shipped outside the United States may be subject to import duties and taxes. The duties and taxes will be assessed when the package reaches your destination country. The customer is responsible for these and any other additional charges. Unfortunately, we can not control or determine the duties and taxes that will apply to orders being shipped outside of the U.S. because policies vary. Contact your country’s custom office for more information. Rare and valuable items are given special care and attention. There is a fee of $50.00 for these items. The extra cost covers hand-inspection, priority shipping, and full insurance. Items that fall into this category are labelled "rare/valuable book" on our item pages. When ordering from us, you are the importer on record and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods. Shipping time may vary.
